Manistee County 4-H Livestock Council
Rabbits & Cavies
Rabbits, and the newly added Cavies, are the cornerstone of any 4-H Program and Manistee County 4-H is no exception.

Youth, ages 5 to 19, are eligible to show and market* Rabbits and Cavies with 4-H at the Manistee County Fair.

Cavies, or Guinea pigs, are a new 4-H Animal to Manistee County's program. It was introduced in 2017 with the hope of encouraging youth living in town or families who may not be ready for a larger animal, that there is still a space for them and you in 4-H and at the Fair!

*The current rules, under the by-laws of the Manistee County 4-H Livestock Council, state that all 4-H participants MUST complete one year of SHOWMANSHIP ONLY before they can market an animal. Cloverbud years DO count towards this requirement. No 4-Her may market ANY animal until 4-H age 8.
